Foster Parent Agreement

What is a foster parent? A foster parent provides a temporary home for an animal rescued from a shelter — for anywhere from one week to several months.

Being a foster parent is like being a grandparent — all the enjoyment of caring for an animal without the lifetime responsibility. A foster parent must be able to care for a needy animal, provide love and attention, evaluate behaviors, and then let the pet go to another family.

Foster Parent Information
Agreement & Liability

I understand that all foster animals remain the property of S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue and S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue retains all rights regarding the animal in foster care. I agree that S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue is not and shall not be responsible for any damage or injury to any person, property or any animal caused directly or indirectly by the pet I have chosen to foster. I hereby indemnify and hold S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue harmless from any and all liability by reason of any such damage or injury caused by this fostered pet.

If you would like to have your foster pet checked by your own veterinarian, this will be at your own expense. If the pet has a medical issue, please call S.A.F.E. at 386-983-2337 and we will advise you on steps to take.

Do not take the pet to a vet without prior approval by S.A.F.E. or you will be responsible for the bill.
